Hot dog collaboration with Bone Suckin’ Sauce, and it’s a true North Carolina creation! We used North Carolina's famous Bright Leaf Hot Dogs along with Bone Suckin’ Sauce Sweet Spicy Mustard, Sweet Southern, and Seasoning Rub. The result? Pinecone Hot Dogs — a North Carolina twist on burnt ends, inspired by the pinecones that are part of our roots.
Ingredients:
- (1) 2 lb. Pack of Bright Leaf Hot Dogs
- Bone Suckin' Sauce "Sweet Spicy" Mustard
- Bone Suckin' Sauce "Sweet Southern"
- Bone Suckin' Sauce Seasoning & Rub

Cooking Instructions:
- Start with one Bright Leaf Hot Dog. Use Slot Dog to make crosshatch cuts along the surface. Remove the hot dog and repeat with the rest.
- Lightly coat the sliced hot dogs with Bone Suckin’ Sauce Sweet Spicy Mustard, making sure they’re evenly covered. Then sprinkle the Bone Suckin' Sauce Seasoning all over each one.
- Place the hot dogs on your smoker at 250°F and smoke for 45 minutes.
- Remove the hot dogs from the smoker. Cut each one into thirds or fourths, depending on the size of your “pinecones.”
- Place the pieces in a small pan. Drizzle with honey and add "Sweet Southern" sauce. Mix until each piece is coated.
- Return the pan to the smoker and cook for an additional 45 minutes at 250°F
- Remove from the smoker, grab a toothpick, dip, and enjoy!
