Bright Leaf Red Hots are one-of-a-kind and mainly found in North Carolina. They're similar to our iconic Bright Leaf Hot Dogs but shorter, fatter, and made with crushed red pepper, giving them a small kick. It's the perfect size for a biscuit, and that's what we made for breakfast here: a Bright Leaf Red Hot Biscuit with cheese. You can't beat this Southern tradition for breakfast.
Ingredients:
- (1) 1 lb or 2 lb Pack of Bright Leaf Red Hots (fresh, local beef and pork with crushed red pepper)
- (1) Can of Biscuits
- Cheese Slices
- Favorite Condiment

Cooking Instructions:
- Cook the biscuits according to the instructions on the container
- Turn the stove eye to medium heat and drizzle some oil
- Split the Red Hots down the middle, but don't cut all the way through and wing them
- Put the winged Red Hots in a pan, add oil, and fry to your liking. (look for black charred mark)
- Add cheese and let it melt
- Place on a biscuit and add your condiment of choice.
- Enjoy!
